Sheep & Seals

The Sheep...

It is said that there are more sheep than people in Scotland! Having spent many days helping on a small sheep croft in the Highlands of Scotland, I have witnessed the huge part they play in rural life and tireless work of the sheep farmer.  However, I have also spent many hours watching little lambs play and frolic, in awe of the boundless energy these little woolly jumpers have!

The Seals...

With their sad puppy dog eyes and large whiskers, they are, in Scotland, more commonly seen as a tourist attraction. In Gairloch, I watch them from my window as they pop up out of the water to watch the tourists go by on the boat trips.

They were once a true symbol of the traditional Newfoundlanders way of life, and are still hunted today.
