Hi, and thanks for visiting my website.
My name is Amanda McIntosh, although most folk know me as Mandy. I am a Scottish born Geologist with a passion for pottery. My husband and I love travelling and spend most of our time living between Gairloch, in the North West Highlands of Scotland, and St. John's in Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada (or at least we did before COVID came along!)
It is from the immersion in these rugged coastal environments that I have been influenced and find my inspiration, from nature and all creatures, great and small.
As an emerging artist, I found my love of clay from attending classes in Aberdeen & Lochcarron in Scotland, and in St. John's, Newfoundland, where I was also a member of the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador.
I am currently a member of the Scottish Potters Association and the Craft Potters Association, and have a temporary studio (in our dining room), with wonderful views out over Loch Gairloch and onwards to the Torridon Mountains.
